Milk powder rally in Germany: “Market responsibility instead of powder madness”

The German Dairy Farmers’ Association BDM plans several "milk powder demonstrations" in different federal states of Germany in the coming weeks, themed "market responsibility instead of powder madness".

The German dairy farmers launched their "milk powder" campaign today (25 August) in Bad Kissingen and Fulda, where Chancellor Angela Merkel is currently running her election campaign. A rally in front of the Chancellery in Munich in the first week of September is to form the highlight of the powder campaigns.

The present strategy against milk crises has devastating consequences for dairy farmers: EU funds are squandered in order to store enormous amounts of powder during times of crises, which excercise downward pressure on milk prices and literally fall back on dairy farmers’ feet.
