5th European Fair Milk Conference in France

Invitation to the conference on 14 June 2018 in Villeneuve-d'Ascq near Lille, France

FaireFrance and the European Milk Board look forward to welcoming you to the 5th European Fair Milk Conference, which will take place on 14 June 2018 in Villeneuve-d'Ascq (near Lille) in France.

With the "Fair Milk" brand, milk producers have taken responsibility and their future into their own hands. By buying "Fair Milk", milk producers receive a cost-covering price. The "Fair Milk" initiative now exists in seven European countries (Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg and Switzerland).

At the conference you will have the opportunity to get to know the different projects and the wide range of products as well as to discuss with "Fair Milk" producers.

The highlight of the conference will be the “Golden Faironika” award ceremony. The award is presented to politicians, farmers and civil society stakeholders to recognise outstanding efforts for a sustainable milk production.

For organisational reasons, we kindly ask you to confirm your attendance by sending an e-mail to office@europeanmilkboard.org or logistique@fairefrance.fr.
Conference languages are German and French.

We look forward to welcoming you at the conference and to presenting these exciting projects.

Please find here the programme and a registration form for the conference.

Irish dairy farmers feel financial squeeze from drought

September on Irish dairy farms would normally be a time when we would be enjoying the fruits of our Summer and preparing for the Autumn and Winter ahead. Study shows success of the EU volume reduction scheme announced 2 years ago

(Brussels, 19.07.2018) Two years ago – on 18 July 2016 – European Commissioner for Agriculture Phil Hogan announced the EU volume reduction scheme for the dairy market. The measure was a great success and showed that even small reductions have a major effect on producer prices. A study by A. Fink-Keßler and A. Trouvé examined...

Current figures from Germany show: gap between production costs and milk price is further increasing

(Brussels, 16.07.2018) The quarterly cost figures for Germany are now available and show that cost coverage in April 2018 was only 78%, while it was 88% in January. Production costs in April amounted to 42.70 cents; however, producers only received 33.42 cents per kilogram of milk. This problematic combination of falling milk...
