Commissioner Dacian Ciolos is present when milk producers commemorate 157.000 closures of farms since 2009.

(Brussels, 27.11.2012) More than 3500 milk producers are demonstrating since yesterday with about 1000 tractors outside the European Parliament. Today they commemorated their more than 157.000 colleagues who had to abandon their farm since the last major crisis in 2009. Sieta van Keimpema, Vice-President of the EMB: "There is an answer to the closure of farms. With the aid of a flexible supply management a further bleeding of the milk market can be prevented”. Commissioner for agriculture, Dacian Ciolos, was as well present at the commemoration. He decided at short notice to speak to the demonstrators.
