Dear media representatives,
The free market, terrific export opportunities, milk as much as you want: you know all these buzzwords. But they conceal a milk policy that is ruining the dairy farmers, our European agriculture. None of the promises that have promoted this policy have been kept. The result: rock-bottom prices and farms bled to death throughout Europe, regardless of their size.
That is why the EMB dairy farmers will be calling for an end to the destructive milk policy in a big demonstration in the morning of 7th September.
The farmers will be there with their tractors outside the Council building in which the EU Ministers of Agriculture will be meeting.
They will be putting their demands to the Ministers of Agriculture as well as to the major farmers’ associations that are also to blame for this ruinous policy.
In the run-up to the demonstration we would like to invite you to a press conference in the Résidence Palace at 9.30am. The EMB Executive Committee will be at your disposal to answer questions and give statements.
