A very intensive day. Beginning with a spectacular action in Brussels in front of the European Commission, to many blocades of dairies in France and Switzerland, to burning scads of straw and following reset actions with milk all over Germany, to a big trator-demonstration in Austria in front of the ministry of Agriculture with street blocades, to the distribution of millions of litres of milk in the Netherlands and Belgium to finally to the upbeat of the big blocades of the borders in Italy, which will achieve its highlight tomorrow. Today has clearly shown, how powerful and how well organized european dairy farmers are to show their concerns to the public.
Brussels:
handing over of demanding-paper to the deputy of the president of the European Commission. Declaration of the deputy: Übergabe der EMB-Forderungen an Stellvertreter von EU-Kommissionspräsident. Aussage des Stellvertreters: „Barroso is concerned that the situation is serious. He wants to put pressure on Fischer Boel so that crisis can be transcended.“
France
Europewide actions: in regions of south-west of France three different dairies have been blocaded. Support of veggie-farmers, who also have ig problems with low prices for their products. Start of blocades of all dairies and milk-tankers all over the nation. Besides further regional actions started.
On Monday Poland has joined the french-german initiative, which asks for a reorganisation of the milk sector, to catch the abolition of milk quota. In Alsace (also in west of Alsace) farmers have joined the milk strike today.
Switzerland
Europewide actions: up to 150 dairy farmers have blockaded the access roads to the ELSA-dairy, the biggest dairy in Switzerland in Estavayer-le-Lac (FR), with their tractors from 8 to 12 o’clock.
In the german part of Switzerland small actions. Around the Lake Constance fires should be sparked tonight. All over the nation (together with Germany).
Disposition to strike grows, 500 dairy farmers are striking.
Germany
Europwide actions: all over Germany straw-fires sparked and put out with milk. Examples: With 50.000 liters of milk 15 dairy farmers from the region of Neuburg-Schrobenhausen near Ehekirchen have put out the fire with milk. Collegues from whole Europe joined the action and protested against the low milk prices. Slogan: „Straw is burning, politics is sleeping“. About 140 farmers from the region of „Bergisches Land“ have started their way to Düsseldorf to the state chancellery on their tractors to blockade the trafic.

Austria
Europewide actions: 70 tractors and hundreds of farmers in front of the ministry of agriculture in Klagenfurth to blockade the trafic.
Besides: Suspension of deliveries show consequences on market. The spotmarket is paying 37 Cents currently. Farmers are gettimng 23 Cents.
Netherlands
Europwide actions: Winterswijsk 50 to 70 tractors have cllected milk. They had to go a couple of times to get the whole amount of milk and to yield it together with their german collegues.
Luxembourg
Acceptations of Premier Minister Junker tZugeständnisse von Premierminister Juncker towards the demandings of the EMB. On Thursday exact results will be published. Until then strke-cafés will be organised to inform farmers about the current situation.
Belgium
Europwide actions: Europaweiter Aktionstag: 4 Mio. Liter Milch mit Güllefass ausbringen und Brüsselaktion siehe oben.
Italy
Europwide actions: during the night from Monday to Tuesday beginning of the blocade of different border crossings together with Austrians, Germans and French.
Today meeting with minister of Agriculture and dairy farmers of APL in Milan.
