28.10.09 Update

News from Czech Republic: tomorrow quite big events are planned

Milk producers, mainly from the region south Moravia (Brno) and Vysocina region (central part of CZ), tomorrow on 8 places in the Czech Republic the milk will be spread out on the fields, similar to the actions in France, Germany and many other countries in Europe few weeks ago.

Producers will express the current critical situation of decreasing numbers of the dairy cows populations and long inactivity of both: national and European politicians.

Germany

Announcement:

On the occasion of the annual conference of german Prime ministers the 29th/30th of October, dairy farmers will show that they won't keep silent and  that they will continue fighting for a seminal policy on milk market instead of  a non purposive use of money.

On Thursday afternoon, 29th of October, dairy farmers of the Rhineland-Palatinate will meet in at the "Winterhafen" in Mainz for a vigil and a big fire of protestation.

On Friday, 30th of October, they will get support by dairy farmers from all german states. Some will arrive with their tractors.

At about 10.30 am there will be a demonstration in town (start: Göttelmannstraße), at 11.20 am there will be a manifestation in front of the Favorite Hotel, Karl-Weiser-Str. 1, 55131 Mainz.

BDM information to the press : significant higher prices for fresh milk expected

(Freising) At present negociations of dairies and commerce a significant increase of prices is expected. The account should be 7 Cents higher than in April this year.

The german organisation of dairy farmers traces this considerable ascent of prices back to exonerating measurements to the market of dairy farmers in September.

About 500.000 t of milk have been held back by dairy farmers during their actions in September '09. This is how they strengthened and speeded up the ascent of the market for dairy products.

But it is too early to mention this recovery of the milk market as a change of trend. If politics won't decide measurements to exonerate the market, e.g. with a limitation of netting or a partially suspension of milk quota, this recovery will crackle very soon. Already at the beginning of the coming year a new pressure on market because of prices and volume can appear.
