Yesterday (27.4.) the farmers’ organisation Uniterre carried out a symbolic demonstration with “ghost busters” outside the head office of the Swiss milk producer organisation SMP.
“With its current composition the SMP producer organisation is incapable of fulfilling its duty of representing dairy farmers in the milk market. We therefore demand that the members of the SMP Executive Committee who are simultaneously on the boards of milk trade organisations or even dairies resign immediately.”
Uniterre calls for cost-covering prices and milk contracts stipulating at least the volume, quality and price for one year, as prescribed in law.
