Dear Representatives of the Media,

Seldom have they all been so united. The overflowing stocks of skimmed milk powder in the intervention are jeopardising a positive development of the milk price.

So is the intervention in its present form still fit for purpose? For you to obtain an accurate picture of the situation, we are inviting you, along with European policy-makers and the Executive Committee of the European Milk Board, to visit a large Belgian warehouse for intervention powder.

The visit to the Vincent Logistics warehousein Herstal is on Wednesday, 24 January 2018 from 11:00 to 12:00 a.m.

After the visit there will be an opportunity to exchange ideas on the current situation during a lunchtime snack. A shuttle bus to Herstal is being organised from/to the European Parliament (departure around 09:30).
