Dear Media Representatives,
How can the current milk crisis be stopped? How can milk production in Europe be maintained, given the drastic situation in the milk market? What are the best strategies for finally achieving cost-covering prices for the dairy farmers?
These questions will be discussed by the members of the European Milk Board (EMB) when they gather in Montichiari, Italy, for the Members Assembly on 13 and 14 October. Milk producers from every region in Europe will be meeting to come up with joint ways out of the crisis and plan new campaigns of action.
At the same time a recent study on the costs of producing milk in Italy will be presented, the results of which you will be able to discuss there and then with the author, Dr Karin Jürgens.
