Brussels, 11 March 2010: Today´s meeting of the European Milk Board (EMB) with the new EU-Commissioner on Agriculture Dacian Ciolo? has been very constructive for both parties. As the Commissioner stated,  a review of the current EU agricultural direction be necessary to ensure a rational policy on the long term. He agreed, that it be no solution to rely on short term measurements, which are continuously correcting an inadequate political long term strategy. He also said that future policies had to coincide with certain financial framework within the EU budget.

As both parties agreed constructive talks about the milk market should be continued in the near future.
