Milk prices are starting to decrease in all European countries. Too much milk on the markets in relation to the demand is causing these significant price decreases.

In Italy the milk price was  at a level of 41 and 42 Cent per liter until August. In September it started to decrease and it is now at a level of 37 to 39 Cents.

In France the price decreased by 10 Cents within 3 months and it is now between 31 and 34 Cents per liter. For January a price of 28 to 30 Cents was already announced.

In Germany the pressure on the prices has pushed them from above 40 Cents to currently 35 - 37 Cents. Some dairies have already announced to reduce the prices down to 32 Cents per liter in November and December.

In the Netherlands the prices are now at a level of 35 Cents per liter, which is far from being cost covering.

Irish farmers are currently receiving a price of 33 Cents per liter, which is 6 Cents less than before.

Also in Denmark the current developments worry the farmers. At the moment they are receiving 33 to 34 Cents per liter and there are concerns that the price could go down to 25 Cents per liter in the future.
